Ilaria Callipari hold a master’s degree in art history from the University of Verona. Her MA thesis focuses on ritual artifacts. Here, she combined three different levels of analysis – functional, semiotic, and aesthetic – to argue that these objects enable imaginative scenarios in those moments that De Martino would call «crisis of presence ».

Working at the intersection of ritual studies, cultural history, and aesthetics, she investigates how artefacts participate in the generation of collective meaning and symbolic actions.

She has lived and studied in Verona, Munich, and Barcelona—experiences that have shaped a comparative approach to her studies. She will be spending a three-month visiting period at the University of Oslo as part of the Erasmus+ traineeship programme, where she plans to develop this line of inquiry within a broader international framework.
