Jacopo Bertol is a PhD student at La Sapienza, Università di Roma, with a project titled: Un’intricata rete di poteri: la lotta alle “superstizioni” nelle campagne alle porte di Roma e di Venezia (1570-1623). His research examines the repression of witchcraft and magic in the countryside of the early modern Italian peninsula, with a particular focus on the different actors involved.
